Route Selection Studies
The goal of a route selection study is to examine the traffic operational impacts associated with the proposed development/closure and to determine the extent of roadway modifications necessary to assure smooth, efficient and effective traffic operations within the vicinity of the development/closure such as levels of service, impacts to on-street parking and required left-turn storage.

Functional Planning and Design Studies
Functional planning studies identify near/short term priority improvements, confirm the long range function, requirements, classification, and design standards of proposed transportation infrastructure. As well, the studies incorporate access management requirements, staging, address existing deficiencies and clearly define the impacts of proposed improvements.
|
Transportation Study
Transportation studies involve the planning of all areas of transportation including recreational and commuter pathway planning, which provide access for many travel modes, such as: cyclists, joggers, roller-bladers, wheelchairs and pedestrians.
|
Transportation Network Assessment
Transportation network assessments are used to determine the level of development that may be accommodated in a particular area, determines the most appropriate long-term use of the land area, and may provide a planning and development strategy.
|
Transportation Modelling and Transportation Demand Forecasting
For a defined study area, travel demand models provide a basis for illustrating and evaluating the travel patterns of large study groups at a macroscopic level over a long planning horizon (i.e. 10 or 20 years).

Expert Witness Testimony
A traffic and transportation site impact study that satisfies the requirements of the “Transportation Impact Study Guidelines” (September 1995, RMOC) document which currently governs submission of applications of development involving site plans can be prepared to be used as evidence in an appeal in front of the Ontario Municipal Board (in Ontario) and similar boards in other areas.

Traffic and Parking Assessment
Traffic Assessments are similar to traffic impact studies, but generally assess small developments with little effect on the surrounding road networks. (See Traffic Impact Studies for further details). Parking Assessments can provide inventories of existing facilities such as: Number of municipal and private parking spaces, type of parking space (i.e. on-street or off-street), parking lot utilization, time restrictions and fees, and number of monthly pass-holders.
