Castleglenn Receives Minister’s Award for Operational Innovation

On March 7th, 2019, Castleglenn Consultants received the Award for Excellence in Operational Innovation as part of the Minister’s Awards for Transportation Innovation.

Arthur Gordon was presented the award for his contributions to the Highway 2 Corridor Improvement Study.

Castleglenn Awarded Highway 16 Functional Planning Study!

Castleglenn is excited to announce that the firm has just been awarded the Highway 16 Functional Planning Study by Alberta Transportation. Castleglenn will use an innovative methodology to examine the following interchanges:

• Highway 16 and Clover Bar Road / Range Road 231
• Highway 16 and Highway 21 Systems Interchange
• Future interchange at Highway 21 at Township Road 534.

Highway 43 Functional Planning Study is Underway!

Castleglenn is happy to announce the commencement of the Highway 43 Functional Planning Study near the town of Fox Creek. Alberta Transportation has retained Castleglenn to address current and future safety and access concerns by determining potential intersection and local road upgrades and future service road requirements, as well as confirming the future interchange location and configuration.

Castleglenn Awarded Detailed Design Contract of Highway 3 Rail Tunnel

Castleglenn is excited to announce that they have been awarded the detailed design contract associated with establishing a new rail spur line requiring a tunnel under the Highway 3 corridor to accommodate a coal loading facility near Blairmore, Alberta. Castleglenn has again been retained by Riversdale Resources to undertake the detailed design aspect of this project, after completing the functional plans integrating this facility with Alberta’s Highway 3/3X provincial plans.

Queen Elizabeth II / 65th Avenue Interchange Functional Planning Study Now Complete!

Castleglenn is pleased to announce that the Queen Elizabeth II and 65th Avenue Interchange (Leduc) Functional Planning Study study is now completed.

This study was a joint effort between the City of Leduc, Alberta Transportation and the Edmonton International Airport and was initiated to address the long-term roadway and freeway requirements in the vicinity of 65th Avenue and the 50th Street Fly-over bridge. The study provides functional plans to address an “interim” and “ultimate” strategy providing for enhanced accessibility across the QE II (Hwy 2) corridor.

Castleglenn to Undertake the City of Leduc’s Transportation Master Plan

Castleglenn Collaboration on Highway 2 Corridor Improvement Study

Castleglenn is excited to announce their collaboration with CIMA+ and Al-Terra to undertake the Highway 2 Corridor Improvement Study. This study will prepare an Implementation Plan that reflects Alberta’s 50-Year Transportation Strategy. By way of traditional and non-traditional improvements, this study will allow this portion of Highway 2 (between the Edmonton and Calgary ring roads, Highway 2:15 – Highway 2:32) to function as a high speed, high capacity and safe multi-lane roadway.

Highway 63:01 Functional Planning Study Completed!

Castleglenn is excited to share that the Highway 63:01 Functional Planning study from Township Road 642 to Highway 55 has been completed.

This study was initiated to determine the “ultimate” requirements for the twinning of Highway 63 and a future interchange location in the vicinity of the Village of Boyle. The study also confirmed the “ultimate” access management strategy in terms of the supporting service roadway network to provide access to adjacent lands and the existing municipal roadway system and confirmed the location of a future interchange within the vicinity of Boyle.
