310 Stonehaven Dr OMB Hearing Traffic Evaluation and Assessment (Ottawa, ON)

Project

Castleglenn Consultants was retained by the City of Ottawa to prepare a technical memorandum for the purpose of defending Council’s position of establishing a “holding zone” until such time as a “transportation solution is found and implemented to the City’s satisfaction that improves the intersection of Stonehaven Drive and Richmond Road, and the Stonehaven Drive / Richmond Road corridors.”

In compliance with the City of Ottawa’s request, Castleglenn Consultants undertook an operational analysis that included:

  • Current (2009) traffic counts along the Stonehaven Dr study corridor;
  • Queue length analysis of the Richmond Road / Stonehaven Dr intersection during peak hours of operation;
  • Video-taping of peak period operations at critical intersections; and
  • Analysis of information contained within previous reports.

This technical memorandum investigated the impact associated with development initiatives on lands located within the Bridlewood community that would directly impact the Stonehaven Dr corridor, its existing accesses and intersections. As well, the memorandum also addressed the planned changes to infrastructure as denoted in the studies submitted to the City in support of various development initiatives.
