Project
CastleGlenn Consultants Inc. was retained by R.W. Tomlinson Limited to address the traffic and transportation related concerns associated with the proposed quarry development at the former Moore Farm Property. The proposed 215 acre quarry development is located west of the Hwy 7 / Hazeldean Road interchange. The Transportation Impact Brief (TIB) addressed future traffic operations within the vicinity of the proposed quarry development. The area proposed to be licensed (120 acres) is located north of the Highway 7 corridor at the western limits of Speedway Road. The site would be subject to the development of an aggregate extraction area.
From this TIB, the following conclusions were drawn:
- The development will not result in the need for expanded cycling, transit nor pedestrian infrastructure;
- The operational characteristics associated at the Speedway Road / Spruce Ridge Road intersection were determined to be satisfactory; and
The impact of the proposed aggregate extraction site would represent peak seasonal operational characteristics only and is anticipated to reduce significantly during the off-season time periods.
