Bourget Subdivision Traffic Impact Study (Bourget, ON)

Project

Castleglenn Consultants was retained by Atrel Engineering Ltee. to assess the transportation and traffic related issues associated with the proposed Residential and Light-Industrial Development in Bourget. The 53 acre site is located on the northwest quadrant of the Russell Rd / Marcil Rd intersection. Phase 1 is anticipated to be completed by 2016 and phase 2 by 2021. The Traffic Impact Study (TIS) addresses existing and future traffic operations within the vicinity of the proposed development.

The analysis and findings for the TIS have led to the following conclusions:

  • The majority of the increase in traffic volumes generated by the proposed development would be from the general light-industrial development and therefore a larger percentage (75-90%) of generated traffic would use the Russell Rd / Access #2 intersection;
  • Based on the worst-case movement at the Russell Rd / Access #2 intersection, the current roadway configuration still provides adequate operational service with a LOS of ā€œCā€ or better, a v/c ratio of 0.38 or less and a delay of less than 20 seconds; and

Should land use change as development progresses that would result in higher traffic generation, the results of this analysis would need to be revised.
