HWY 22X – Functional Planning Study (Indus, AB)

Project

CastleGlenn Consultants was retained by Alberta Transportation to conduct the Highway 22X/Highway 791 Functional Planning Study for a section of Highway 22X between the East Calgary Freeway and Range Road 273.  This study addressed the “ultimate” requirements of the Highway 22X corridor including the preferred Highway 22X twinned alignment, provision for an 8-lane cross-section and future location/configuration of interchanges along the Highway 22X corridor.  The study also included the realignment of Highway 791 as part of the Highway 22X/Highway 791 interchange design.  A total of twelve alternative Highway 791 alignment options were developed a recommended alignment was presented based on an encompassing matrix evaluation of each option.
